Young Sean receives an encrypted voice message from his grandfather (Michael Caine), which he decrypts together with his stepfather Hank (Dwayne Johnson). The message contains the coordinates of the mysterious island described by Jules Verne in his novel. Together with a helicopter pilot and his daughter, the two travel there, where they experience both tiny and huge animals in a strange land.
